GALVESTON, TX — Galveston Pirate SC continue their tune up for the first National Premier Soccer League winter season with a convincing 2-0 victory over ASC New Stars.

The first half was even until Pirate captain Roy Hernandez beat two defenders and slotted home for his 12th goal of the current campaign.  Pirate SC featured three new recently signed players in the starting 11, all whom made an immediate impact for Coach Brendan Keyes' side.

ASC New Stars changed goalkeepers at halftime and the substitute was instrumental in keeping the game close in the second half as Pirate SC stepped up the attack.

Pirate took the lead 2-0 after Roy Hernandez played a one-two with Mohamed Bashagou who buried a blast into the top corner from 20 yards out.

Coach Keyes side continues their preseason for the next few weeks as they tune up for the First NPSL Winter Season to begin in early October 2010.
